Morning Fire

Float vs Euro Mount Explained

Next Previous

"Morning Fire" is a shot of Rams Island Ledge Light Station at sunrise. When the sun pierced the horizon it literally burst the sky into an orange flame creating such a bright light that everything in the foreground seems to burn away into a black ashy silhouette. This shot was taken with a 400mm lens so that the lighthouse, which is relatively far away, would seem large next to the sun as it rises in the distance but also to capture all the color in a small area where the real action was happening on this morning.
