Baby in Flight
We scored the deal of a lifetime when we became underwater data collectors with the Keiki Kohola Project, which is a Humpback Whale research team. The research is focused around mom and calf pairs, which means it is our "job" to swim with mom and baby Humpback Whales! On this particular day, you can see mom resting as her calf returns from the surface after grabbing a breath of air. We think the sun rays all around the pair add a beautiful element to an already majestic shot. This photo was taken under NMFS Permit #10018 & 895-1450 during research activities pursuant to this permit.
