We are usually concentrating so much on our underwater encounters that we don't spend as much time as we should photographing the whales from the surface. The way the sun was glistening on this whale's tail was just too hard to pass up. This photo was taken under NMFS Permit #10018 & 895-1450 during research activities pursuant to this permit.
