Stuck in the Middle

We were in love with the purple bubble tip anemone that surrounds this Orange Clownfish. In fact, we were drawn to this particular scene by a tiny transparent Pacific Clown Anemone Shrimp that was just beautiful. We positioned our lights in a way that would pop the shrimp out of the background while also enabling you to see through the shrimps’ body. As we were taking the shrimp shots, this little Orange Clownfish kept acting territorial and started charging us; he was pretty funny and actually very cute. So, without changing the lighting setup, we snapped a couple pictures of this attentive little guy and ended up with one of the best images we’ve ever captured. We owe it all to the lighting technique we stumbled across while trying to shoot that shrimp!
