“Great art picks up where nature ends.” – Marc Chagall
When you take photography underwater you have to choose if you are going to shoot wide angle or macro because you can not change your set up once your diving. This dive we were all set up to shoot macro because there was some very cool shrimp we knew about in the area. Our only problem is that this turtle really liked John and kept coming up to him to try and sit in his lap! There was no way to ignore this encounter so John finally decided to take some macro shots of the turtle's face. It turns out that its eye revealed some beauty that we didn't expect and an intricacy that you do not normally see from a wider turtle shot. I love how you can almost see into this turtles soul.
